To attach an encoder shaft to another rotating shaft, a coupling device is needed. Because shaft run-out or endplay can result in excessive loads on encoder bearings, BEPC recommends use of flexible couplings designed for encoder applications. BEPC also offers magnetic couplings that can be used for temporary applications, or for attaching hollow bore or thru-bore encoders to large diameter shafts. These magnetic couplings are a perfect match for both the Model 260 and Model 25T. For easier centering on a shaft, a pilot hole is located in the centre of the coupling.
